The current Citywide Council on Special Education will be vacating their seats at the end this term on June 30, 2021. The election process has started and there are 433 candidates for the next 2021-2023 term on the Citywide Council on Special Education. See below for more info on the election, candidates, & learn how
Candidates were asked to write statements as part of the application process detailing their backgrounds, experience, and reasons why they want to be elected.
There have been forums held each week in March and April to allow parents to see the candidates and hear answers to important questions.
Candidates were asked to create videos to highlight their reasons for running for a seat on the council.

Voting begins May 1, 2021 and ends on May 11, 2021. All parents of children with special needs can vote for up to three candidates via NYCSA. Though parents can vote for up to three (3) candidates, once they place their vote for 1,2, or all 3, they will be unable to vote again. If you are voting for more than one candidate, be sure to vote before you submit.
Good luck to all candidates running for election and reelection! Check back here after May 15th for a list of winners.
